The chocolate wattled bat (''Chalinolobus morio'') is a species of vesper bat from the Vespertilionidae family. It is found only in Australia and Tasmania,〔 but it is endemic to those regions and is widespread, especially in southern regions.〔 It is known to reside from sea level to at least in Victoria.〔 The species is listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List, there are no apparent threats to it, and it occurs in multiple protected areas.〔 There are three synonyms for the chocolate wattled bat: ''Chalinolobus australis'', ''Chalinolobus microdon'', and ''Chalinolobus signifer'',〔 and more taxonomic research needs to be done to isolated populations.〔 The species is found from rainforests to treeless plains and inhabits a wide variety of other environments, roosting in tree hollows, caves, and even buildings.〔 The colonies that they form may have anywhere from ten to more than one thousand members, and females usually give birth to a single young.〔 ==References==
